Some books of the Bible are particularly suited for certain scenarios. The book of Job is a wonderful resource for troubling times. This book presents forty-seven poignant and powerful lessons gleaned from the story of Job, lessons that guide and encourage the believer through times of trial. These lessons begin with "Bad things do happen to good people" and end with "There are trials we think we can't get through, but God can bring us through anyway." While not an exhaustive study of Job, this book provides personal and practical lessons to minister to the soul of the Christian who wants to seek and please God through his trial.

There is much profit in knowing God well. God is so complex, however, that no single name or description can fully capture Him. God has many names and titles through which He reveals various aspects of His character. The book of Psalms is a rich repository, containing 154 different names. This devotional book features 120 entries (71 pages) which explore these various names, give explanations, and provide foundations for meditation. The King James Version of the Bible is utilized. This is a revision of a booklet previously titled One Hundred Twenty-Two Foundations for Meditation Based on the Names of God as Presented in the Book of Psalms.

Cancer, fibromyalgia, and rheumatoid arthritis are just a few of the chronic illnesses that plague many Americans, and Christians are not exempt. Living with a serious illness is not easy. The challenges extend far beyond the physical realm, and maintaining a strong Christian testimony is difficult. Growing in godliness and pleasing God do not come naturally.
In the midst of such complex challenges, even the most mature Christians need help. They need more than just shared life stories or practical tips for facing the disease. They need more than poignant illustrations to inspire them or amusing anecdotes to make them laugh. While each of these aspects is helpful, what the sufferers need most is the encouraging truth of the Bible. Only the supernatural, unchanging Word of God can give genuine comfort and effective help. Healing for the Heart is a devotional designed for Christians who are serious about seeking God’s help in their time of illness. The entries are focused on Bible truths and are designed to provide encouragement, instruction, and gentle challenge. Strengthen your heart on a daily basis with this Biblically based and compassionately shared truth. - 392 entries, 357 pages Available in hardcover ($39.95), softcover ($24.95), or e-book ($3.99) from West Bow Press.
